Dear Dr. Boulette:

This letter provides receipt acknowledgement of your letter dated November 7,1996 in response to the issue raised in our May 13,1996 letter. We understand that there are different classifications of vendor manuals at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station and the additional information BECo provided relative to the subject case, was consistent with NRC Inspection 50-293/95-22 findings. Specifically, vendor technical manuals being used for safety-related maintenance are being controlled by an update process. NRC unresolved item (UNR) 50-293/95-22-01 remains open in the area of vendor equipment technical information program backlog resolution pending further NRC review.

Thank you for providing this clarification. We have no further questions on this subject at this time.
