This is an update to the PN issued on January 29, 1997, which reported 1

j the plant shutdown due to primary system pressure boundary leakage. The '

licensee has completed weld repairs to the three-quarter inch vent line cnd the line has been returned to service. The licensee terminated the Notification of Unusual Event at 7
25 a.m. on January 30. The licensee is continuing to cold shutdown conditions to perform additional corrsetive maintenance activities. They are scheduled to return to power operations approximately 12:00 noon on February 1, 1997.

The licensee reported that a local radio station expressed interest but tha licensee still does not plan to issue a press release. 1 The resident inspectors have been monitoring the licensee's repair actions and plant status control during the repair and root cause annlysis. '

Tha State of Georgia has been notified.
