ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM "B0B" - UPDATE l This PN updates PN0-II-85-70, issued on July 23, 1985.

R;gion II is continuing to monitor the course of tropical storm " Bob."

l As cf 9 a.m. (EDT) today, the storm was near latitude 29.5 north and longitude 80.3 west, I ab:ut 40 miles east-southeast of Daytona Beach, Florida. The storm moved inland from the Gulf of Mexico yesterday, crossed the Florida peninsula, and blew out into the Atlantic

! Oc an. Heavy rains and some high winds occurred at both the Crystal River and St. Lucie

} sites, but no damage was reported. There was some rain but no appreciable wind at the

! Turkey Point site, which is south of the storm.

At its present location, the storm is moving north at 12 miles per hour and is expected to c ntinue in this direction for the next 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />. Highest winds are 50 to 70 mph. The l

National Weather Service says that between now and 2 a.m. (EDT) tomorrow, there is a 65 percent possibility the storm will pass within 65 miles of Fort Pierce, Florida; & 26 to 28 l percent chance it will pass within that distance from Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia; and a six percent chance it will pass that close to Wilmington, North Carolina.

l R;gion II has confirmed that officials at the Hatch, Brunswick and General Electric sites are aware of the storm's position and are prepared to take appropriate precautions.
