V. C. SUMMER REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATION REPORT 395/0L-89-01 The NRC administered examinations during the waeks of February 21 -and February 27, 1989, to employees of your company who currently hold licenses to operate the V. C. Summer Nuclear Plant. At the conclusion of the site visit, preliminary findings were discussed with you and those members of your staff identified in the Examination Report, Enclosure 1.

A table summarizing the examination results for each examined individual is provided in Enclosure 2. Comments made by your training staff concerning the validity of some questions in the week 2 written examinations are contained in .

Copies of the written examination and answer key are included in this report as .

A Requalification Program Evaluation Report is included as Enclosure 5. This Evaluation Report finds that the V.C. Summer Requalification program remains satisfactory. Your attention is invited to information in the Evaluation Report which describes our concern over the number and type of post-exam changes made to the written examination. We would like the opportunity to discuss this issue with your staff to insure that both NRC and your training staff more fully agree on the conduct of future exams.

A Simulator Fidelity Report is provided in this report as Enclosure 6.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and Enclosures 1, 3, 4,'5 and 6 will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room. Enclosure 2 is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(a) and will not be sent to the Public Document Room.
