The NRC staff has reviewed the information contained in your letter dated June 12,-1989 which was submitted in response to Bulletin 89 01, " Failure of Westinghouse Steam Generator Tube Mechanical Plugs". As a result of this review, the staff has concluded that your response conforms with the Bulletin and that no additional information is required at this time. Implicit with your response is the commitment that you do not intend to install plugs with the thermally treated Inconel 600 heats identified in the Bulletin.

The information which was utilized in tne formation of your response shocid be l maintained for inspection.
