03105 Re: Sirens fbr Nuclear Accident

Dear Mr. Beckley:

Thank you for your letter of October 17, 1983, addressed to Rep. Roberta Pevear, C.D. Director of Hampton Falls.

This is to advise you, however, that the Town of Hampton Falls is still in the process of working on its nuclear plant evacuation and/or emergency preparedness plan; there-fore, we are not now in a position to allow installation of sirens or any other form of public alerting system. We ad-vised Mr. Nason, PSC employee, of this when the proposition was presented to us.

Until such time as we ascertain what form of public alerting system best meets the needs of the Town, and best fits in with our planning process, we cannot allow installation of any such system.

Please advise Mr. Keast of HMM Associates that as and when we have reached a decision we will notify you.

Very truly yours, cc: Rep. Roberta Pevear HAMPTON FALLS BOARD OF Mr. Boulay, Mass. C.D.A. SELECTMEN Mr. Strome, N.H. C.D.A.
