475 Allendale Road i King of Prussia, PA 19406 i Dear Mr. Hodges billistone Nuclear t.ver Station, Unit No. 2 I Inspection Report No. 50-336/89 13 l On October 11, 1989,II) the NRC Region I Staff issued Inspection Report No. 50 336/89-13 which addressed various employee allegations at Millstone Unit No. 2. In this report the Staff assessed Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) four Level IV violations and one Level V violation, it was requested that a written reply to this Notice of Violations (NOV) be submitted on the docket within 30 days of the letter transmitting the NOVs.

.The purpose of this letter is to formally request an extension of 30 addi-tional days to the written reply to this NOV a t. per our discussion on October 25, 1989. This request is being made due to the volume and complexity L

of the issues raised and the resources required to responsibly address these issues. As you are aware, Millstone Unit No. 2 has just recently shut down to perform an inspection of the steam generator tubes. The shutdown activities will require substantial attention of the same personnel responding to the NOV.

NNECO requests that this 30 day extension to the NOV response be granted due to the cir' stances outlined above. Based upon our conversation of October 25, ..iess we are advised to the contrary by the Staff, NNECO will (1) M. W. Hodges letter to E. J.
