REPORTABLE OCCURRENCE 250-82-007 Licensee Event Report Page two Additional Cause Description and Corrective Actions This blowdown system has only been in use for approximately two mcnths. It was installed when Unit 3 was shutdown for repair of the steam generators.
. The hydraulic shocking of the blowdown lines was noticed when the systen first went into operation. After analyzing the problem, it was concluded that tne hydraulic shock could be prevented by following a certain sequence of valve operations whenever the blowdown system was used. A set of special -
instructions was composed and then tested with various personnel observing the blowdown lines for movement. The results were satisfactory. In the future, the blowdown system will always be operated according to the special instructions.
Future modifications are being considered to enhance the blowdown system operation.
The broken snubber (No. 37) was a new snubber that was installed and inspected on Unit 3 according to MP-0707.2 during the steam generator repair outage. -
This snubber is not currently in our Technical Specification Table 3.13-1, but the proposed Technical Specification amendment to add this snubber has been submitted to the Commission. A new snubber was installed and inspected witnin 10 hours1.157407e-4 days
0.00278 hours
1.653439e-5 weeks
3.805e-6 months
.
