CHLORINE DETECTION SYSTEM Re:        Brunswick Steam Electric Plant Units 1 and 2 By letters dated February 21 and April 15, 1985 you indicated that the chlorine detection system would be modified to assure that the air transport time from the chlorine detector to the isolation damper is greater than the isolation time from detection to isolation as allowed by Regulatory Guide 1.95. You also indicated that the modification would be completed during the current Unit I refueling outage. We discussed this issue during a meeting with your staff on May 29, 1985. At the meeting we indicated that this issue was under staff review. Since this meeting we have reviewed your February 21 and April 15, 1985 letters and we find that there is not adequate detailed information to review. You should provide an evaluation of the proposed modification to show that it meets the Standard Review Plan 6.4. That is, you should revise your Control Room Habitability submittal of March 2,1983 and provide updated information consistent with your proposed modification.
