      SUBJECT: REPORT N0. 50-348/86-14 AND 50-364/86-14
      The NRC Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) Board has completed
l
      its periodic evaluation of the performance of your Farley facility. This
      facility was evaluated for the period January 1, 1985 through July 31, 1986. The
      results of the evaluation are docume.nted in the enclosed SALP Board Report. This
      report will be discussed with you at the Farley facility on October 21, 1986, at
      10:30 a.m.
      The performance of your Farley facility was evaluated in the functional areas of
      plant operations, radiological controls, maintenance, surveillance, fire
      protection, emergency preparedness, security, outages, training, quality programs
      and administrative controls affecting quality, and licensing activities.
      A high level of performance has continued at your Farley facility. There was an
      aggressive management posture towards nuclear safety.          Strengths were noted by
      the SALP Board in the areas of plant operations, radiological controls,
      maintenance, surveillance, fire protection, outages, and licensing activities.
      Any comments you have concerning our evaluation performance of your facility
      should be submitted to this office within 30 days following the date of our
      meeting at your Farley facility.          Your comments (if any), a summary of~ our
      October 21, 1986 meeting, and my disposition of your comments will be issued
      as an appendix to the enclosed SALP Board Report.
      Should you have any questions concerning this letter, we will be glad to discuss
      them with you.
