By letter dated May 17, 1987, as supplemented June 22, 1987, July 7,'1987 and March 16, 1989, you submitted an amendment request to revise technical speci-fications to. increase s, surveillance testing and calibration intervals for Rosemount analog trip unit systems. After careful review, the NRC staff has concluded that your request cannot be approved at this time. We have provided:

the reasons for our conclusion in the enclosed Safety Evaluation.- A new application may be submitted once the. technical deficiencies are corrected.

. A copy of the Notice of Denial of Amendment to be published in the Federal Register,-is enclosed for your information.
