DETECTION OF CONCEALED WEAPON On August 1, 1985, a contractor employee attempted to enter the site protected area with a handgun in her purse. The handgun was detected by normal security entrance controls. The contactor employee stated that the gun was for her personal protection while offsite. The licensee guard force denied site access, and the contractor employee was discharged.
The NRC does not plan to issue a press release but will respond to any media inquiries.
The state of Louisiana was not notified.
