Dear Sir 6

On February 16, 1979, Mr. W.

Longstreet, Vice President and General Managar, Contractor Eqitipment Business Division of the General Electric Company received information indicating that certain equipment supplied to the Texas Utilitios Generating Company for use at the Comanche Peak Steam Electric St& tion, Glen Rose, Texas contained a defect reportable under Regulation 10CFR Part 21. De-t allt., of this situation are as follows:

Equipment Identification:

Two General Electric "AV Line" Switchboards for Class lE service as follows:

a) Equipment Tag No. cpl-EPSWED-Ol, Bus No, LED 1 b) Equip: tant Tag No. cpl-EPSWED-02, Bus No. LED 2.

Nature of Defect: Tne two switchboards identified above were shipped with in-correct ammeters installed in them. The a:: meters installed were G. E. Catalog No. 50-103121FMSN2KFM, Type DB-40, 200-0-60CA Scain fut use with 56 my snunt.

Since cach ammeter is connected to a 100 mV shunt, the ammeters would read double the actual current level.

The safety hazard which could be created by this defect is any unsafe action which a misreading of the meter might cause in carrying out operating routines based on such a meter reading.

Date of Discovery: February 16, 1979.
