GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY RNER BEND STATION POST OFFICE BOX 220 ST. FRANCISVILLE, LOulSIANA 70775 AME A CODE 604 635 6094 346 8661 May 5, 1989 RBG- 30797 File (, ode G9.5, G9.41 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk

' Washington, DC 20555 Gentlemen:

River Bend Station - Unit 1 Docker No. 50-458 On August 25, 1988, Gulf States Utilities (GSU) submitted to the NRC, pursuant to 10CFR50.71(e), Revision 1 to the River Bend Station (RBS)

Updated Safety Analysis Report-(USAR)(RBG-28565). It was recently discovered that, through an administrative oversight, an updated version of USAR Appendix 13A that should have been included in that Revision 1 submittal had been omitted. Appendix 13A contains the resumes of key RBS corporate personnel. A summary of the changes reflected in the revised appendix was. addressed in GSU's annual report pursuant to 10CFR50.59(b)(2) submitted to the NRC on August 29, 1988 (RBG-28575)..however, as stated, the actual changed pages were not

_provided to the NRC. A copy of the revised Appendix 13A is enclosed with this letter.

A' careful check has revealed that this is the only oversight of this nature associated with Revision 1 of the RBS USAR. It is GSU's intention to include the revised Appendix 13A in Revision 2 to the USAR which is scheduled to be submitted to the NRC and other USAR set holders on August 29, 1989. If you have any questinns or desire further information on'this matter, please contact Mr. L. L. Dietrich of my staff at (409) 839-3011.

Sincerely,
