INAITENTIVE EMPLOYELS On April 24, 1989, Region lit dispatched an Augmented Inspection Team (AIT) to Braidwood to review two instances in which licensee employees were found inattentive to duties.

At 2:30 p.m. (CDT), April 18, 1989, a Region 111 operator licensing examiner observed an individual with his eyes closed in a chair in the Jnit 1 control room. The individual was not a licensed control room operator but was from an offsite support organization. His duties did not involve reactor operations.

At 2:41 p.m. (CDT) April 19, 1989, the same Region 111 licensing examiner observed a radiation control technician with his eyes closed, possibly asleep, at his desk by the radiological controlled area at the exit from the Auxiliary Building. The individual was observed in this condition for two to three minutes before being awakened. Earlier fthat
