INITIAL CRITICALITY The Unit I reactor achieved initial criticality at 10:39 p.m. (CDT) on May 29, 1987.
Conditions at the time of the initial criticality were as expected.
An Operating License was issued on October 17, 1986, authorizing fuel load and subcritical testing. The license authorizing operation up to five percent power was issued on May 21, 1987.
The preparation for and achievement of initial criticality was monitored by the resident inspectors.
The State of Illinois will be notified.
