NOTICE OF V;oLAT;ON Commonwealth Edison Company Docket Nos. 50 456; SH57 -

Braidwood Station Lloonse Nos. NPF-72; NPF-77 Branoville, Illinois As a result of an inspection conducted from November 4 through December 15, igg 7, a violauon of NRC requirements was identified, in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement AcGons,' NUREG 1600, the violation is listed below:

Tecnnical Specification 6.8.1.s states, in part, that written procedures shall be established, implemented, and maintained covering the applicable procedures recommended in Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, February 1978, which laciudes procedures for the startup, opwation, and shutdown of safety related system Paragraph 3.f of Appendix A to Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, lists containment as a

safety-related system.

Revision 6, Step F.2.c, requires that prior tc closing the containtnent, loose tools,

! equipment and mirror insulation that are net needed for approved work in progress be ,

Contrary to the above, ois Novemw 2, igg 7, the inspectors identified that the licensee i had failed to fasten covers on the incore neutron detector drive mechanism, and the

licensee had failed to remove from containment unattended tools near the reactor head

that were not needed for approved work in progress.
