SHUTDOWN TO REPAIR MAIN TURBINE GOVERN 0R VALVE y At 12:34 a.m. (CDT), April 11, 1989, the licensee tripped the main turbine and shut down the
- reactor to begin repairs on the No. 4 main turbine governor valve, which had been sticking since April 6. The malfunctioning valve. had forced the licensee to reduce the unit's power level.
The unit is expected to be returned to service April 16. During the outage, other maintenance activities are planned.
R:gion III (Chicago) will monitor the licensee's course of action.
The State of Illinois will be notified.
