DOCKET NOS. 50-369, 50-370, 50-413 AND 50-414 This - acknowledges the receipt of your letters of September 9, 1985, which transmitted Revision 8 to the Catawba Nuclear Station and Revision 23 to the McGuire Nuclear Station Physical Security Plans.

Our review of the changes in these revisions found that the changes involve vital equipment criteria. Vital equipment- criteria are currently under review

' by the NRC Offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation -(NRR) and Nuclear Materials.

. Safety anc. ifeguards (NMSS).

Due to the policy implications of your submittal we are transferring it to NRR for review and disposition. This was discussed during a teleconference on October 4, 1985, between Mr. J. Davis of your staff and Ms. O. Masnyk of Region II The e1 closure to your letter is being withheld from public disclosure because it contains Safeguards Information and must be protected in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 73.21.
