PREDECISIONAL ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCES - CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION (RESCHEDULED)- DOCKET NOS. 50-413 AND 50-414
Dear Mr. Peterson:
This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. S. Bradshaw of your staff and Mr. E. Lea of the NRC on June 14,1999, conceming rescheduling of two predecisional enforcement conferences originally planned for June 23,1999. The rescheduling was requested by you during a telephone conversation with Mr. B. Mallett of the NRC on June 10,1999. The purpose of the conferences is to discuss the apparent violations associated with the Catawba Unit 1 and Unit 2 ice condensers, as addressed in NRC Integrated inspection
- Report Nos. 50-413,414/98-13; 50-413,414/98-16; and NRC Special Inspection Report 50-413,414/99-11, and the apparent violation associated with the potential inoperability of the standby shutdown system described in Inspection Report 50-413,414/99-10.
The standby shutdown system conference has been rescheduled for July 12,1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be conducted in Bridge Conference Room C of the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center,61 Forsyth Street, S. W., Atlanta, Georgia. The conference regarding the Unit 1 and Unit 2 ice condensers has been rescheduled for July 20,1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will be held in Bridge Conference Room D of the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center. Both meetings will be open to the public as per Section V of the " General Statement of Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," NUREG-1600.
