SUBJECT: NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-369/99-06 AND

50-370/99-06

Dear Mr. Barron:

This refers to the inspection conducted between August 1,1999,'and September 11,1999, at

the McGuire Nuclear Station. The enclosed report, with an attachment, presents the results of

that inspection.

During the six-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at the McGuire

facility was generally characterized by safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and

maintenance practices, and careful radiological work controls.

Based on the results of this inspection, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has

- determined that one violation of NRC requirements occurred. This violation is being treated as a

- Non-Cited Violation (NCV), consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. The NCV is

described in the subject inspection report. If you contest the violation or severity level of this

NCV, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the

basis for your denial, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk,

Washington DC 20555-0001, with copies to the Regional Administrator, Region ll; the Resident

inspector at the McGuire site; and the Director, Office of Enforcement, United States Nuclear

Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001,
