By [[letter::05000413/LER-1999-007, :on 990426,operation Prohibited by TS 3.4.7 Was Noted Due to Inoperable Train of Rhr.Caused by Inadequate Work Sequencing.Returned B Train RHR to Operable Status by Restoring Power to Valve 1NI136B|letter dated May 26,1999]], you requested NRC approval to change the schedule of the current two-year requalification training program. This change will allow you to schedule requalification examinations 'n non-outage dates. The current Catawba licensed operator requalification training program cycle started January 1,1999, and is scheduled to end December 31,2000. You proposed an attemate ending date of September 30,2000, to shorten the current cycle.
Title 10 of the Code of Federal Reaulation_g (10 CFR) Section 55.59(a)(1) specifies that such
.requalification program."not to exceed 24 months in duration." You have provided sufficient information to demonstrate conformance with the regulations goveming licensed operator requalification requirements. Therefore, we approve the requested schedule change. The next two-year cycle will start on October 1, 2000, and will end on September 30, 2002. Subsequent two-year cycles will also begin on October 1 and end on September 30.
