We have reviewed your revised physical security plan for your Argonaut research reactor. This review consisted of determining if the revisions decreased the effectiveness of the basic plan pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p) and an evaluation of the adequacy of the overall plan in conjunction with your license renewal application. Your security plan consists of l

1 December 29, 1977 3, 4, Sa, 5b March 28, 1978 Our evaluations of the security plan and revisions shows it does not decrease the level of protection and is acceptable. In addition it meets the staff's interim guidance for non power rescarch and training reactors and also will meet or exceed the requirements of proposed 10 CFR 73 A7 for a facility that possesses SNM of either moderate or low strategic significance. These evaluations are on file in this office and are withheld from public disclosure under provisions of 10 CFR 2.790(d).
It is requested that the basic plan and revisions be consolidated into a single document for inclusion in the renewal license. Further, to facilitate future amendments, it is requested that the plan be in loose-leaf format.
