Dear Mr. Keppler:
On July 21, 1982, Mr. T. D. Geib of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc (PSI) notified your office of a potentially reportable item as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e). Conduit and cable tray hanger inspection reports generated by the electrical erection contractor, Commonwealth-Lord JV, were determined to have a variety of deficiencies.
The deficiencies included missing inspection reports, inadequate description of items inspected, missing inspection results and conflicting notes.
Commonwealth-Lord JV is presently revising its inspection procedures to clarify documentation requirements. Conduit and cable tray hangers previously inspected will be reinspected to the revised procedures. Further corrective action, if any is determined necessary, will be based on the results of this reinspection.
This letter is intended to fulfill the requirements of an interim report as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e). A further report will be filed on or before December 3, 1982. If you have any questions on this matter, please feel free to contact me.
