Dear Mr. Keppler:
On February 28, 1983, Mr. L. G. Yeager of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) notified your office of a potentially reportable item as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e). A PSI audit of the site HVAC contractor, Pullman Construction Industries, Inc. (PCI), resulted in a number of findings which indicate that PCI has not adequately imple-mented their quality assurance program. It is conceivable that non-conforming conditions could exist and had they gone uncorrected, could have adversely affected the safe operaticas of the plant.
PCI has responded to the audit findings and PSI has accepted, subject to verification of the corrective action, PCI's dispositions. The disposition of some findings requires reinspection of materials.
This reinspection is continuing at this time. A further report will be filed on or before February 10, 1984. This letter is intended to fulfill the requirements of an interim report as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e).
