In Gulf States Utilities' (GSU) September 4, 1981, response to Generic Letter 81-03, GSU committed to provide, if required, the assessment of any hardship associated with specifying "L" grade stainless steel for all other ASME III Code Class 2 and 3 stainless steel piping (except instrument tubing) by December 15, 1981. Having reviewed the subject in detail, GSU is in the process of directing our A/E to specify "L" grade stainless steel for all other ASME III Code Class 2 and 3 piping as recommended in Generic Letter 81-03 and NUREG 0313 Rev. 1. This concludes GSU's response to Generic Letter 81-03.
