50-206, 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre NuclearGenerating Station Units 1, 2 and 3 By letter dated March 9, 1981, the March 1981 "Physical Security Plan, San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3" was submitted to the NRC.

Revisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the plan were submitted by letters dated July 22, 1981, November 30, 1981, December 30, 1981 and January 25, 1982, respectively.

As a result of our continuing review and updating of the plan and recent meetings with members of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Region V, a number of changes to the plan have been made. Accordingly, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p) enclosed are five copies of Revision 5 to the aforementioned plan which is notification of the changes. The changes are identified with a vertical line in the right hand margin and a number 5. Such changes do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the plan.

In your June 3, 1982 letter SCE was requested to identify the period of time the temporary modifications identified in our April 1, 1982 letter will be in effect. In response to your request, the referenced Temporary Security Processing Facilities at San Onofre Unit 1 will remain in effect until August 1, 1984, and the temporary relocation of vital area fencing has been removed and permanent fencing is again in place. Any temporary change that we may make will not degrade security.

The enclosure hereto contains "Safeguards.Information" as specified in 10 CFR Section 73.21 and should, therefore, be-withheld from public disclosure.
