10 CFR 50 APPENDIX R SECTION II.G. FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTION SCHEDULE Region V only has two plants remaining to be inspected in accordance with TIs 2515/61 and 62. They are Rancho Seco and San Onofre Unit 1. As indicated in our telephone conversation of August 1, 1983, these plants are expected to be ready for inspection as indicated below:

It is our understanding that Rancho Seco submitted their latest exemption request in January 1983 with an additional response in March 1983.

Therefore, it appears that the earliest Rancho Seco should be inspected is March 1984.

San Onofre Unit 1 (SONGS 1) is currently shutdown and intends to remain in this condition until NRR renders a decision on the licensee's back fit proposals. In any event it does not appear that SONGS 1 would be ready for such an inspection until late in FY 85.
