LICENSEES: CONSTELLATION AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR NORTHEAST FACILITIES: NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION AND JAMES A. FITZPATRICK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

SUMMARY

OF PUBLIC MEETING On April 3, 2013, at 4:00 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open-house at the Scriba Town Hall Municipal Building in Oswego, NY. The NRC conducted the open-house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station and James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant for 2012.

A notice of the open-house was issued on March 18, 2013, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML13077A116.

The NRC presented poster boards, fact sheets, and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Nine Mile Point and James A. FitzPatrick for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2012, as documented in our letters dated March 4, 2013 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML13060A329 and ML13060A336). The NRC poster boards and fact sheets included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP). Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Nine Mile Point and James A. FitzPatrick can be found on the NRC's web site at:

Members of the public, local officials, and members of the media attended the open-house and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Nine Mile Points and James A.

FitzPatricks performance, and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
