This event was determined to be reportable per Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.1, in that it has been determined that the failure of a single component could defeat the overload detection and protection devices for the containment penetration carrying power cables for the reactor recirc-ulation pumps.
Additionally, please note that the letter confirming the telephone notifi-cation of this occurrence (PLA-1404, dated 11/18/82) should carry the LER number 82-043/01P-0.
