RE: Update on Lighting i

Dear Dave:

j The following is an update on the lighting which you observed during  !

your inspection of October 2 thru October 6,1989. I 1.. The .2 lumen requirement was restored on October 8,1989.

2.  : All temporary lighting has been reinstalled. For safety reasons, all temporary lighting must be placed in conduit, this was the reason for the delay. ,
3. All of the bulbs, refractors and globes from the existing four cluster perimeter lights have been replaced with new 1000 watt

, metal halite bulbs which vastly improves-our existing lighting.  ;

4. The manufacturer of the four cluster lights, Holophane, has been
  • on site and will give us his recommendations for permanent lighting shortly.
5. The illuminating engineering group has been on site and has taken triangular light readings and gl ave us recommendations to change all the existing lighting. ,

Dave, as you can see, we have made improvements in our existing lighting and plan on making even more changes. Please make your management aware of what we have accomplished and let me assure you we will continue to upgrade our facilities. John Menning, NRC l Resident Inapector at Plant Hatch, has been briefed on these changes.

Sincerely, d &
