MF1881 AND MF1882)
Dear Mr. Gallagher:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-37 and NPF-66 for Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, respectively. The NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses based on its review of your application dated May 29, 2013, and supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through April 13, 2015. The technical specifications for Byron 1 and 2 were not amended as a result of the NRC's review. Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-37 for Unit 1 expires at midnight on October 31, 2044. Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-66 for Unit 2 expires at midnight on November 6, 2046.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed operating licenses for Byron 1 and 2 is set forth in "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, and Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2," dated July 6, 2015 ( Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML15182A051). The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed licenses are given in NUREG-1437, Supplement 54, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Byron Station, Units 1 and 2," dated July 2015, (ADAMS Accession No. ML1519A263), and the record of decision. The staff review for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, continues as explained in the scheduled revision letter dated September 14, 2015.
For Byron Unit 1, Enclosure 1 contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-37; Enclosure 2 contains the following Appendices:

- Appendix C, "Additional Conditions" For Byron Unit 2, Enclosure 3 contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-66 with the following Appendices:
