Dear Mr. Chilk:

As you know, today the Commission received a briefing on Zimmer. During the briefing Mr. James Keppler, Region III, -

announced., inter alia, that a letter dated June 2, 1982 had ,

been received from the Department of Justice. He stated that the letter was "public."

Following the meeting, I requested a copy of the public '

letter from the Director, Office of Public Affairs. After checking, he advised me that Mr. James Cummings, OIA, had refused to release the document.

Accordingly, I request that as soon as a c"opy of the document is released to anyone, we be provided a copy at the same time.
