Georgia Power Company's (GPC) submittal to the NRC dated August 25, 1986, as supplemented with additional correspondence dated January 23, 1987, and April 30, 1987, proposed changes to the Plant Hatch Unit 1 and Uni t 2 Technical Specifications which would revise the setpoints for ,

instrumentation which isolates .the Reactor Water Cleanup (RHCU) system  ;

upon detection of high RHCU room temperature. These proposed changes j were issued as Amendments 144 and 79 to the Unit 1 and the Unit 2 Technical Specifications, respectively.

As discussed with Mr. L. P. Crocker of the NRC on September 28, we have become aware, during preparations by the Architect Engineer to l implement the design change, that information contained in the analysis I supporting the Unit 1 changes may contain discrepancies. That is, the Unit 2 leakage detection (temperature versus time) curves may not be applicable to Unit 1, as was stated in our letter dated January 23, 1987. HVAC design differences between the Units are the primary reason for the differences between the curves. He do not believe, based on preliminary reviews, that the proposed setpoint will change; however, the subject setpoint change for Unit I will not be implemented until the discrepancies are resolved and NRC concurrence is obtained. The information which was provided in support of the Unit 2 Technical Specifications change is correct and the change has been implemented on i that Unit. l l
