, Gentlemen:

The subject NRC Bulletin 88-07, "Power Oscillations in Boiling Hater  ;

, Reactors (BWRs)," dated June 15, 1988, was issued as a result of the March 9, 1988, event at LaSalle-2 in which neutron flux oscillations l occurred following a two-pump trip. The bulletin requested Georgia Power '

Company (GPC) take action within 15 days of receiving the bulletin to

! brief licensed reactor operators and shift technical advisors (STAS) on tiie LaSalle event, and within 60 days, verify the adequacy of procedures,

, operator training programs, and instrumentation. This letter constitutes a confirmation that GPC has completed the actions requested pursuant to

. Bulletin 88-07. l

Licensed reactor operators and STA's were thoroughly briefed regard:ng the March 9,1988 LaSalle Unit 2 event within 15 days of the "

I i receipt of this bulletin (or prior to performing shift duties if they were unavailable during the 15-day period). According to the criteria '

specified in the bulletin, procedures and operator training programs were

. reviewed within 60 days of the receipt of the bulletin. Any procedure and training program revisions needed as a result of the review have been made. Licensed operators and STA's are being trained on the bulletin

, requirenents prior to assuming their shif t duties. Georgia Power Company has evaluated the adequacy of the instrumentation and, based on information prosied by the BHROG, believes the neutron monitoring system (NHS) provides adequate information to the operator, t
