Duke Energy Corporation Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Numbers 50-413 and 50-414 Proposed Improvod Technical Specifications Amendment Surveillance 1 trements 3.6.11.6 and 3.6.11.7 Air Return Sys.em Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, Duke Energy Corporation is requesting an amendment to the Catawba Nuclear Station Facility Operating License and Improved Technical Specifications (ITS). This amendment applies to the ITS surveillance requirements (SRs) for the Air Return System (ARS) fans and motor-operated dampers, SR 3.6.11.6 and i 3.6.11.7. Specifically, the proposed amendment modifies the details of the SRs to be consistent with the design of the Containment Pressure Control System (CPCS) at Catawba.

Inconsistencies were discovered in the existing version of these SRs relative to CPCS design during implementation activities associated with the ITS at Catawba.

The contents of this amendment request package are as follows:

-Attachment 1 provides a marked copy of the affected ITS and p Bases pages for Catawba, showing the proposed changes.

. Attachment 2 contains reprinted pages of the affected ITS and Bases pages. Attachment 3 provides a description of the proposed changes and technical justification. Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92, Attachment 4 documents the determination that
