Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 1 l 4 Docket No. 50-413 Technical Specification Change Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, attached is a proposed one time revision to Technical Specifications 3.6.1.1,3.6.1.2,3.6.1.8, and 3.6.1.9. This change will allow operation of the Containment Purge Ventilation System during Modes 3 and 4 during startup from the steam generator replacement outage. This change will be necessary due to respiratory hazardous gases which will Jeopardize personnel safety at this time.

Duke Power is requesting review and approval of these changes by June 3,1996, in ,

order to support the retum to service of Catawba Unit 1 from the steam generator replacement outage. l The requested change applies to Catawba Unit 1 only. Attachment 1 contains the  ;

marked up Technical Specification pages (combined and split formats) and Attachment 2 contains the Technical Justification and No Significant Hazards Analysis.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1), a copy of this amendment request has been i

provided to the appropriate South Carolina state officials.
