Denton, Director Serial No. 856/101179 Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation PSE&C/GLP:mac: wang Attn: Mr. O. D. Dear Mr. Denton:

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF CLASS 1E INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL EOUIPMENT We have reviewed your request for additional information dated October 11, 1979 and we have developed a schedule for providing the requested information.

We are presently working on the table which you requested to be filled out for IE equipment. We will complete this table for in-containment equipment and submit the information no later than December 17, 1979.

The above schedule allows sufficient time for all parties to assemble the required information; i.e., A.E. and NSS supplier, and for us to review all submittals to insure ourselves that they are accurate.

As we indicated in a November 1, 1979 telecon with Messrs. Dunning and Satterfield, we will revise our 79-01 submittal to clarify sr;me of the equipment identification and location information. This work will be completed as soon as possible; i.e., no later than December 17, 1979.

If you seriously consider that the proposed schedule will actually delay issuance of an operating license for North Anna Unit 2, please contact this office immediately.
