VIRGINIA El.ECTRIC AND POWER C_QMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 BSGB REQUEST FOR INFORMATION On April 25,1990, the Reactor Safeguards Branch (RSGB) requested additional information concerning our August 23,1989 response to finding MS 1 in inspection Report. No. 50 339/89-200 regarding the North Anna Safety System Outage Modification Inspection (SSOMI). The basis for the request was that additional Information was necessary to assist in decision-making whether further consideration of this' matter was warranted under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.109. Our response to

.your request is contained in the attachment. We feel that it would be beneficial to discuss our response on this issue with you at your convience.- We will coordinate any meeting through the NRC North Anna Project Manager, Mr. Leon Engle.

The attachment contains safeguards information of a type specified in 10 CFR 73.21.
