DPR-32 DPR-37 NPF-4 NPF-7 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3), and in accordance with conversations (7-26-90 and 7-27-90) between Messrs. F. Jape and M. Thomas, of the USNRC staff, and T. Harding of Virginia Electric and Power Company concerning changes submitted to our Quality Assurance Program (6-6-90), we are resubmitting the attached pages. These changes do not reduce the commitments in the quality assurance program description previously approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission but only clarify our current practices and positions as discussed in the above conversations.

The replacement pages for the Topical Report (17.2-24 & 17.2-55) and the Synopsis of Changes (entire) replace the same pages contained in the updated Operational Quality Assurance Program Topical Report - VEP 1-5A as submitted on June 6, 1990.

Added Item 19 under NRC R.G. 1.38 to only require marking of items OR their containers, if in separate containers as opposed to marking both items AND their containers.

Added Item 24 under NRC R.G. 1.38, to allow for an alternative to mark containers with waterproof ink or paint with legible characters.
