PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket Nos. 50-282 and 50-306 In response to IE Bulletin No. 80-06, the following is offered:

Item 1 The safety system schematics were reviewed. Upon reset of the safety signal, safety related equipment remains in its emergency mode. The systems reviewed included:

Safety Injection Residual Heat Removal Component Cooling Containment Spray Containment Isolation Aux Feedwater Cooling Water Shield Building Ventilation Fan Coil Units Diesel Generators Reactor Coolant System Aux Building Special Vent System Control Room Air Handling Containment and Inservice Purge Chilled Water Main Steam I

Item 2 The test, demonstrating that safety equipment stays in its emergency mode after reset, will be completed at the next refueling outage for each unit. Presently scheduled dates are: Unit 1 in August - September 1980 Unit 2 in February - March 1981 Yours truly, q f
