This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated July 15, 1985 which transmitted changes to the Northern States Power Company's Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Emergency Plan (Revision 5).

We have completed our review of the submitted changes and have determined that they are consistent with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(q) and do not decrease the effectiveness of the plan. We noted that you have. included a description of plant environs and radiological monitoring drills as well as monthly communications checks with the NRC in Section 81.2 of the Emergency Plan. These changes were recommended by us in our review of the Revision 4 of the Emergency Plan as documented in our letter of August 27, 1984.
