Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. I. T. Yin of this
office on April 11-13, 1989, of activities at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating
Plant authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-42 and No. DPR-60 and to
the discussion of our findings with Mr. E. Watz1 at the conclusion of the
inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report documents our evaluation of your
plant modification and temporary modification program, your actions responding
to findings and issues identified by the NRC Safety Systems Functional
Inspections and your audits conducted to address the NRC concerns and
significant events at the plant.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
