This refers to the NRC's Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP 8)
Board Report for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, and our meeting
of July 27, 1989, which discussed in detail the contents of the report and your
written comments dated August 11, 1989 relative to the report.
3ased on our in-depth discussions during the meeting on July 27, 1989, and our
thorough review ano evaluation of your letter of response dated August 11, 1989,
we have reached the conclusion presented in the Appc.ndix to this letter.
Issuance of the Appendix serves as the final step in our SALP assessment
process.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Pru+. ice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter with the
referenced enclosures, will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
