Gentlemen:
This refers to the special inspection conducted by Messrs. D. Funk and
A. Januska of this office on September 19-22, 1988, of activities at the
Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, authorized N NRC Operating
Licenses No. OPR-42 and No. DPR-60, and to the discwho of our findings
with D. Mendele and D. Schuelke at the conclusion of W 11 spection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection re) ort identifies areas exatained during
the inspection. Within these areas, tie inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative re.ords, and interviews with
personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
