This letter refers to the Regulatory Performance Meeting conducted on March 30, 2005, at the Surry Nuclear Information Center (SNIC) in Surry, VA. The purpose of this meeting was to arrive at a shared understanding of the performance issues, underlying causes, and your corrective actions associated with a degraded Mitigating Systems Cornerstone. It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial to our mutual understanding of the issues and the corrective actions. A list of attendees and a copy of our presentation handout is enclosed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
