PUBLIC MEETING

SUMMARY

- 2021 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING REGARDING NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, DOCKET NOS. 50-338 AND 50-339; AND SURRY POWER STATION, DOCKET NOS. 50-280 AND 50-281, MEETING NUMBER 20220349 On April 20, 2022, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a live virtual meeting concerning North Anna Power Station and Surry Power Station. The purpose of the meeting was to provide opportunities for the public to discuss the annual assessment for the period of January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.

The public meeting was held remotely through the Microsoft Teams application. Additionally, a call-only telephone bridge line was available. The following documents related to the meeting are available in ADAMS: Meeting Notice (ML22094A059), Assessment Meeting Presentation (ML22091A090).

The meeting was conducted from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Meeting attendees consisted of representatives from the NRC, Dominion Energy, and members of the public. Due to the nature of the meeting, no official list of attendees is included. NRC staff were available for questions following each presentation. There was minimal interaction with the public which was consistent with the typical annual assessment meetings conducted near the station. A general comment was received from a member of the public expressing interest in observing Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assessments of offsite response organizations during radiological emergency preparedness exercises. The NRC staff (Senior Government Liaison Officer) provided contact information to the individual for further information regarding FEMA assessments.
