OF APRIL 21, 2022, MEETING
SUMMARY
REGARDING POTENTIAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR NORTH ANNA POWER STATION AND SURRY POWER STATION On April 21, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an Observation Meeting public teleconference1 with representatives from the Dominion Energy (Dominion). The purpose of the meeting was for Dominion to discuss its plans to submit a license amendment request regarding emergency preparedness2for North Anna Power Station, Units 1 and 2, and Surry Power Station, Units 1 and 2, and to and receive NRC staff feedback on what information would be needed to support the NRC staff review of the submittal.
During the meeting, the NRC staff reinforced the need to provide site-specific details to justify the proposed changes. The NRC stated that site-specific evaluations would be helpful to justify the extensions of the augmentation and activation times discussed.
No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting. Following the discussion, an opportunity was afforded to any other participants who wished to ask questions or make comments. No questions or comments were received from the public.
