==Dear Mr. Franke:==

By letter dated December 16, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) received the Florida Power Corporation application for renewal of Operating License No.
DPR-72 for Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant (CR-3) in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 54.17. By letter dated May 22, 2009 (ADAMS Accession No. ML091200415), the staff issued a proposed schedule for the review of the CR-3 license renewal application.
By letter dated November 5,2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML103070380), the NRC issued a revised schedule in order to accommodate multiple concurrent license renewal reviews. Due to additional constraints on staff resources affecting the environmental review and the necessity of having an additional Advisory Committee for Reactor Safeguards sub-committee meeting to discuss containment-related issues, the current schedule must be revised. The enclosed schedule contains revised milestone dates. This change has been discussed with Mr. Mike Heath of your staff.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Robert Kuntz, Project Manager for the review of the CR-3 license renewal application, by telephone at 301-415-3733 or bye-mail at Robert. Kuntz@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
