CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT - EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, PART 20, APPENDIX G, SECTION III.E.
Dear Mr. Reid:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted ADP CR3, LLC (ADP CR3) the enclosed exemption from the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 20, Appendix G,Section III.E, for tracking shipments of low-level radioactive wastes that are not acknowledged by the recipient within 20 days after transfer to the shipper. The exemption extends the receipt acknowledgment time period from 20 days to 45 days before ADP CR3 will have to investigate, trace and report on the status of a low-level radioactive waste shipment being transported from the Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant to a licensed land disposal facility. This action is in response to your application dated January 19, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML21019A464).
A copy of the exemption is enclosed and has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
